Over this past few week we have come together as a community to comfort and support one another following the atrocious terrorist attack in Israel. It is in these moments that we are once again asked to care for one another and respond to the wide range of needs both here and in Israel. Our work is ongoing and being a member of this sacred community, of our K’hillah K’dosha, is as important as ever.
This email has all the information needed about your Alyth subscription for 2023-24, with your statement attached. Please take time to read the through new brochure that has been created explaining how your annual contribution to Alyth is made up, and how it is used to ensure that Alyth continues to play an important role in our Jewish and communal lives. Please click here to see the brochure.
Whether we see Alyth as a place of worship and of learning for ourselves or our children, a source of connection in times of loneliness, or as an arena for the activities we care about, being part of a thriving community like ours is an important source of meaning and belonging.
As well as information about your annual subscriptions and the importance of remaining up to date with your payment to the Jewish Joint Burial Society (JJBS), there is information about the introduction of a building levy this year as we move closer to using our new, modern spaces in the Leo Baeck wing. There is also information about how leaving a gift to Alyth in your will is a personal and valued way to securing a bright future for the community.
The Membership Support Fund has been a vital source of support for members who have not been able to contribute in full over this past year. There is information in the brochure about how members can access the fund in 2023-24 and how you can support others through the Membership Support Fund.
You currently pay by cheque, credit card, bank transfer or standing order. Please make your payment as soon as possible. Failure to pay by December may mean that you are no longer able to be included in the JJBS burial scheme and may need to pay additional JJBS charges to re-join the scheme.
If you would like to pay over 10 months by Direct Debit, please complete the mandate that is on the reverse of the attached statement.
Whether you are a long-standing member, or one of the 176 new members who have joined Alyth over the past year, thank you on behalf of the Trustees, the Rabbis and the Professional Team for being part of the Alyth family. Wishing you all the best for 5784.
