We continue to be horrified and saddened by the ongoing events in Israel. As a community we need to respond and support one another and those who need our care. Over Shabbat there will be opportunities to gather to reflect and share and there are also practical ways in which we can respond.

If any adults from the Alyth community, would like to attend the Drop In to help host our Israeli guest and if you speak Ivrit and would like to volunteer please let lynette@alyth.org.uk. So that we do not overwhelm anyone, if many of you come forward we may set up a rota accordingly asking people to come different weeks.

Shabbat Hospitality If anyone is able to offer Friday night Shabbat home hospitality to an Israeli family, please let lynette@alyth.org.uk know.

After a Shabbat morning service all together, please stay for a special kiddush in which we will have an opportunity to drink a l’chaim to Rabbi Josh and his family.
The Trustees considered what gift to give Rabbi Josh. Knowing that he doesn’t like surprises, we asked him what he would like. He said that the best gift that the community could possibly give him would be for everyone to donate to the Building Project.
The renewal of the building has been a priority for the community since the need was first raised over eight years ago. Alyth matters hugely to Rabbi Josh, and the new building will make an enormous difference to the community.
As we mark the beginning of a new year it is time for us to turn our attention as a community towards the future. 5784 will be a year of celebration, as we open the new building, and also of transition, as we work to build on the strong foundations that have been laid under Rabbi Josh's exceptional leadership. As we enter this period of transition, we have the opportunity to ask ourselves what we value about the community we have built so far, what we hope for the future, and what kind of leadership will support us as we meet the needs of both those who are with us today and those who will come in future generations.
To support this conversation, the Trustees invite you to one of our upcoming 'Talk Together' events on one of the dates below. Each will last for two hours, will be held in person, and will be an opportunity to talk with other members of the community and to share your thoughts, hopes, insights, concerns and aspirations for the future of our community. What we learn together will be really valuable as we begin the process of search and recruitment later in the year. You can sign up online by clicking here. Full details of the venue will be sent to you when you sign up. If these dates are over-subscribed, we will offer more dates.
Dates Monday 6 November 19:30-21:30 Sunday 19 November 19:30-21:30 Monday 20 November 19:30-21:30 Sunday 26 November 10:30-12:30 Thursday 30 November 19:30-21:30
