As part of our Chavruta Project we are studying the book of Jonah, which is traditionally read on Yom Kippur afternoon. In a parallel Pardes series through the month of September, we will examine the book chapter by chapter from a different perspective. Each of the chapters of Jonah has parallels in other parts of the Hebrew Bible, and each week we will see how Jonah is both influenced by and provides an answer to its biblical interlocutors.
