NEXT WEEK AT ALYTH Yom HaZikaron and Yom HaAtzmaut See below for full details of our week of activities marking the 75th anniversary of the creation of the State of Israel, starting with Shabbat Atzmaut/T'kumah this Friday/Saturday, and activities through the week. Israel and Me: Sharing our Stories, Sharing our Heritage Monday 24 April, 19:30
Our main commemoration of Israel 75 will take place on the evening of Yom HaZikaron, Monday 24 April. The evening will begin with a special Yom HaZikaron evening service in which we acknowledge all that has been given to create the State of Israel, and have the opportunity to mourn those lost in its creation and protection.
We will then, over dinner, share our own histories, stories and relationship with Israel: the land, the vision, and the country as it now is. A number of Alyth members with unique stories, both Israelis and members from this country, have been asked to share a little about their personal Israel connection and how they are feeling this Yom HaAtzmaut. Everyone who wishes will also have the opportunity to share the role Israel plays in their life, as we express our commitment to the vision of Israel as articulated by its founders 75 years ago. Click here to register. Please let us know that you are coming so that we have enough food for all in attendance. If you have a particular story that you wish to share, please email josh@alyth.org.uk
