Update on Alyth Programming, 6 January 2022

Our goal for the coming month is to offer as much of our programming as possible in person for those who feel able to attend, while also honouring those joining online.  Most of our programme will be accessible either in person or online, with some online-only provision. 

Especially at the moment, every time we come together we bring the risk of transmission, so we need to work to keep each other safe.

The first way to keep each other safe is to avoid bringing Covid into the Alyth building.  

1. Everyone coming to Alyth over the age of 11 should be either fully vaccinated (including a booster) or take a negative lateral flow test up to 24 hours before attending.  
Members should be prepared to show evidence of this on entry to the synagogue, and will not be able to enter if they cannot show evidence when asked to do so. Vaccination status can be demonstrated in a number of ways, including using the NHS app (please use the Covid Pass for Travel which shows details of vaccinations).  Lateral flow tests should be reported to the NHS – the text message or email from the NHS must be shown on entry.  Please do not bring the test with you.

2. No-one should attend if feeling unwell, even with the symptoms of a cold, or within the isolation period after having tested positive for Covid.

Even with these measures in place, we know that there is no guarantee that someone in attendance is not asymptomatic but infectious.  We also need to reduce risk of transmission taking place.

1. Masks or face coverings must be worn at all times in the Alyth building by those who are not exempt who are over the age of 11.  This includes when singing.

2. We will continue to have windows fully open for all activities as we know that ventilation is key to avoiding transmission.  Please dress appropriately when attending Alyth activities.

3.  Capacity will continue to be reduced for some activities.  All activities require pre-booking.

Tu B'shvat - tea with a “grain” of difference!

From her recently published cookbook, 'Freekeh: Wild Wheat & Ancient Grains, recipes for healthy eating', Ruth will be presenting a delicious tea of grains and fruit to help us celebrate Tu B'shvat.
