Annual General Meeting of Alyth Sunday 21 June, 10:30 (online only)
The meeting will be held using the Zoom Webinar platform. The primary reason for this is to enable members to REGISTER to attend the meeting.
Registration is required in order to be able to access the meeting online and to vote at the meeting.
Each member within a household who is eligible to vote must be registered.

If an eligible member in your household has not received this email but wishes to attend and vote at the meeting, please forward this email to them so that they can click on the link below to register themselves.
Please note: In order to exercise your vote, your annual contribution must be paid (up to date) by Friday 29 June and you must be over 18 years of age.

BE WITH US Ballet in your Bathroom (11:00-12:00) For teens and adults with or without dance experience. Join Abi Aleksander and keep your body and mind active. We will start with a short warm up, move onto her version of a ballet barre and finish with some more contemporary exercises. You don’t need any special equipment apart from a chair or countertop to hold on to and enough room to move your limbs in all directions. Torah is the central chapter of Rabbi Professor Tony Bayfield’s recent book Being Jewish Today: Confronting the Real Issues. Alyth and FRS are delighted to present a five-session weekly series with Tony going through the chapter of his book. LEARN WITH US Alyth Online Lectures (Thursday 18 June, 19:00-20:00) An eclectic series of lectures on a variety of Jewish and non-Jewish topics. The lectures have two things in common: the speakers are all members of Alyth and leading experts in their field. Some of our previous lectures have been recorded and can be viewed by clicking here.
This week: 'Seven Questions to Release Potential at Work' with Michael Wellin. Michael has wrestled with how to best coach and advise people to make the most of their work lives. This used to be called ‘managing your career’ - the word career is however dated. This session provides seven questions which if answered accurately will provide anyone with a robust blueprint for how make the most of their life at work. Michael will describe each of the seven questions and explore some of the issues involved, and give anecdotes of how other people have responded to them.
After obtaining degrees in social psychology and business Michael Wellin worked for large corporates. He then set up Business Transformation Ltd consultants to provide people solutions for major organisation change projects in automotive, engineering, distribution, financial services, health care, professional services and IT. Michael has pioneered numerous business psychology methods and approaches, and these were the subject of his numerous conference presentations, and his two books “Behaviour Technology” and “Managing the Psychological Contract”. Michael now works part time with search firms in the US and UK to assess senior candidates and provide executive and career coaching. Michael is married to Ruth, has a son Zack, and loves walking in high mountains..

Meir Shalev is an Israeli writer and journalist who was born on Nahalal, the first moshav, established in Mandate days. This is a tale of family ties, over-the-top housekeeping, and the sport of storytelling in Nahalal. Tonia, the grandmother of the title, arrives in Palestine by boat from Russia in 1923 and lives in a constant state of battle with what she views as the family's biggest enemy in their new land: dirt.
